Carpenter

job description

Carpenters are responsible for performing skilled carpentry work in the assembly, installation, and dismantling of formwork systems used in the construction of concrete structures such as tilt-up panels, walls, slabs, and parkades. This role requires a strong understanding of construction drawings, formwork techniques and safe work practices. Carpenters work under the direction of the Site Supervisor or Foreman and collaborates closely with other crew members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification. Carpenters act as mentors to the Apprentice Carpenters looking to learn from their experience.

DELIVERABLES

To succeed in the role, the Carpenter will be expected to consistently deliver the following:

  • Execute carpentry tasks in accordance with project drawings and specifications

  • Prepare, assemble, and install formwork systems for various concrete applications

  • Strip, clean, and store formwork components for reuse

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in safe and good working condition

  • Work collaboratively with the crew to meet schedule and quality standards

Carpenters must:
  • Possess a good attitude and be a team player
  • Be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all environments
  • Be dependable
  • Own reliable transportation as we sometimes work in areas with no access to public transportation
